The MultiSim Modelathon – a multiscale modeling competition

August 18, 2015

The central objective of the MultiSim programme is to develop a modelling framework focused on the human musculoskeletal system.
This system is, however, also designed as a generic platform to address multi-scale modelling challenges in general. MultiSim is an initiative of the Insigneo-Institute at the University of Sheffield, who are partners in the CHIC project.
From 24-26 August, 2015, the MultiSim programme will host a so-called Modelathon, an event similar to a hackathon, where IT specialist team up to ‘hack’ a computer code. Similarly, the Modelathon will bring together teams from various disciplines involved in computational modelling to compete against each other in solving a challenging multiscale biomechanical problem within the musculoskeletal system using state-of-the-art techniques and software. Expert lectures accompany the event and provide assistance to the teams of modellers.
